SRI Testing starts January 8

We will begin SRI testing on Thursday, January 8th.

The Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) is a standardized test that provides measurement of a child’s reading level. This test is taken at three different times throughout the year, so that students can look at the personalized data reports and reflect on academic growth over time.

Our Integrated Language Arts and Social Studies teachers will administer the tests in class and work with students to interpret the reports. Students will reflect on their reports with their teachers, advisors, and peers, in order to develop individual goals that are based on the test data as well as other feedback that students receive through class projects and our standards-based grading system. Students will continue to have access to resources that support their development as readers.

In order for the reports to be accurate and meaningful, it is important for students to be prepared to take the tests when they come to school. Please help in making sure that your child gets enough sleep the night before and makes time for breakfast the morning of the test.
