Creative Writing Festival at Whitewater Offers 10 Categories for Student Work

IDEAS students are invited to submit their creative work to UW-Whitewater’s 30th Annual Creative Writing Festival! This is a great opportunity for students to receive professional feedback on their writing, whether it’s poetry, song, short story, script, essay, multi-media, children’s lit., flash fiction, mystery, sci-fi, fan fiction or humor.

As a school, we will send in up to 25 manuscripts no later than Oct. 17. Students may also register to attend without a manuscript and support their peers. On Nov. 19 we’ll travel to Whitewater and spend the day on campus with over 700 young writers from Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. The event is lined with guest speakers, workshops and sharing of student creativity. Students will meet and talk with the professors and local writers who have critiqued their work. They’ll come away with the positive energy of this community of writers!

Students are hoping to fundraise for this trip. Everyone’s support is always welcome!

Watch for upcoming meetings to complete registration forms and prepare and copy manuscripts.
