Overview of School Classes

Weeks have gone by and things have begun to change. The IDEAS Academy students have learned about various topics from botany to poetry. In the botany class the students have learned how to name trees, and in that learning they've worked on things like the hall wall project, learning how to identify trees, and doing outside activities in a creatively open-minded way. Poetry may sound like it’s all about roses being red and violets being blue, but in reality that's not true. The IDEAS Poetry Seminar not only gets to learn different types of poetry, but they get to write it as well. They write poems from haikus to object poems, and they really enjoy it. The IDEAS Poetry Seminar had the opportunity to read poetry written by themselves or by someone else in the 100 Thousand Poets For Change event at the Mead Public Library on September 29, 2012.
